RAPAPORT... A giant diamond originating from the largest rough in Angolan history will go under the hammer at Christie's in Geneva in November.
The emerald-cut, 163.41-carat stone will be the largest D-color, flawless diamond to appear at auction, Christie's said in a statement Thursday. De Grisogono, a Swiss jeweler, cut and polished the stone from the 404.20-carat "4 de Fevereiro," or February 4, alluvial rough diamond that Lucapa Diamond Company recovered from its Lulo mine in Angola in February 2016. Lucapa sold the rough for $16 million later that month.
De Grisogono, which bought the rights to the rough stone, said teams of specialists analyzed it in Antwerp and cut it in New York. An 80-year-old master cleaver made the first cut on June 29 last year. Some 11 months later, the company was ready to send the polished stone to the Gemological Institute of America for grading.
In February 2017, De Grisogono founder Fawaz Gruosi and his team created 50 possible designs for the stone, and agreed on an asymmetrical necklace with the diamond as the centerpiece. The necklace — which the company has called "The Art of De Grisogono" — features a further 18 emerald-cut diamonds and two rows of pear-shaped emeralds.
"Over our 251-year history, Christie's has had the privilege of handling the world's rarest and most historic diamonds," said Rahul Kadakia, Christie's international head of jewels. "The sensational 163.41-carat perfect diamond suspended from an elegant emerald and diamond necklace propels De Grisogono into a class of their own."
The auction will take place at Geneva's Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues on November 14. The diamond will also appear on tour in Hong Kong, London, Dubai and New York.

美麗的藍暈月光石及彩虹月光石：
藍暈月光石是長石家族裡，最讓人熟知的美麗寶石，月光石中最具代表性的即藍暈月光石，斯里蘭卡為藍暈月光石的主要產地，據說在1988年的時候，當地的礦料就已經挖的差不多，這個美麗寶石的驟減，對於珠寶市場造成極大打擊。當時的價格，曾達到每克拉700美元的高價，所以藍暈月光石的絕跡，對市場的影響很直接。幸運的是，差不多就在那個時候，印度的南部，發現了彩虹月光石（Rainbow moonstone)，也很美很特別。嚴格來說，這和原本的月光石是不同成分，應該是歸在長石家族的拉長石，所以稱作彩虹拉長石（Rainbow labradorite）是比較恰當的，且其光學現象也要改作鈉石光彩（Labradorescence) 。但彩虹月光石的名稱太討喜而沿用到今，也廣為世人所接受。

News記者廖庭毅／整理報導不辦婚禮換頭期款好不好？ 票選竟一面倒有即將結婚的女網友於臉書分享，男友媽媽要他們別辦婚禮，但會拿一筆錢讓他們付買房的頭期款，網友表示她無法接受，覺得沒婚禮就沒結婚的感覺，但留言回應卻是一面倒地勸她「別傻了」，豈有不選房子的道理。
一名女網友於臉書「靠北男友」PO文，「如果男友爸媽說結婚不要辦婚禮，公證就好了，然後拿一筆錢出來幫我們付房子頭期款，這樣女孩們能接受嗎？總覺得沒有婚禮就不是結婚了。」，許多網友了紛紛留言：「傻瓜，千選萬選也要選頭期款」，也有網友直說，辦婚禮累得要死還要照顧賓客，收到的紅包以後還要包回去，拿錢買房比較實際。對此蘋果日報還舉辦網路投票，選擇買房破千人，選辦婚禮的則不到百位。
對於婚禮花費，據自由時報報導，婚戀交友軟體針對台灣會員調查發現，高達8成的人指出結婚預算要在台幣30萬以內，且不受電視上名人夢幻婚禮影響，僅3成的人表示會嚮往奢華婚禮，另男女雙方對結婚須具備的經濟條件認知也大不同，男性認為月賺5萬即可娶老婆，但7成女性則希望婚後能擁有穩定生活品質，所以期望另一半每月薪資達7萬後再論及婚嫁。可是至今沒人敢貼出女性對自身的期待，別人要的都要，很少要求自身。
若網友還是選了婚禮，近年來有許多建商推出低自備款、免工程期款的預售屋行銷方式，不過天時地利不動產總經理張欣民於好房網提醒，低自備款雖然誘人，但必須慎選建商，且若民眾已經財務吃緊，卻因低自備款而購屋，屆時若建商出現財務危機或不履行無息分期付款，買方恐怕得面臨龐大貸款壓力。

New York--Almost exactly two years after its discovery, Lucara Diamond Corp. has found a buyer for the "Lesedi La Rona," the 1,109-carat rough diamond unearthed at its mine in Botswana.
The mining company announced late Monday that Graff Diamonds, the London-headquartered company headed by billionaire diamantaire Laurence Graff (no relation to the author), has paid $53 million for the tennis ball-sized stone.
That works out to $47,777 per carat and is $17 million less than what Lucara originally aimed to get for the diamond when it put it up for auction in June 2016, though Lucara President and CEO William Lamb noted that $53 million is more than the highest bid received at the auction.
In the news release issued Monday, Graff called the purchase of Lesedi La Rona a "momentous day" in his career.
"We are thrilled and honored to become the new custodians of this incredible diamond. The stone will tell us its story, it will dictate how it wants to be cut, and we will take the utmost care to respect its exceptional properties. This is a momentous day in my career, and I am privileged to be given the opportunity to honor the magnificent natural beauty of Lesedi La Rona," he said.
Graff Diamonds already owns a 373.72-carat chunk that broke off the Lesedi La Rona. The company paid $17.5 million for that rough diamond ($46,827 per carat) at Lucara's exceptional stone tender held in May.
Another photo gives a better idea of the size of the rough diamond dubbed "Lesedi La Rona," which is said to be about as big as a tennis ball. Lucara recovered the Lesedi La Rona, a Type IIa diamond that actually totaled 1,111 carats before cleaning, at its Karowe mine in Botswana in November 2015.
The citizens of Botswana participated in a naming contest after the diamond was found. Its name means "our light" in Setswana.
Lesedi La Rona is the second largest rough diamond ever found, topped only by the 3,106-carat Cullinan Diamond unearthed in South Africa in January 1905.
On Monday, Lamb called the discovery of the stone a "company-defining event" for Lucara and said: "We took our time to find a buyer who would take the diamond through its next stage of evolution. Graff Diamonds is now the owner of the Lesedi La Rona as well as the 373-carat diamond … We are excited to follow these diamonds through the next stage of their journey."

London--Mining company Gem Diamonds announced this week it has unearthed another big, high-quality rough diamond from the Letšeng Mine in Lesotho.
The stone is 115 carats and is a D color, Type IIa diamond, meaning it has no measurable nitrogen or boron impurities. Type IIa diamonds are the most chemically pure, and it's estimated that only about 1 percent of the world's diamonds are Type IIa.
The announcement, made Tuesday, follows Gem Diamonds's recovery of five other diamonds weighing more than 100 carats this year at Letšeng, which is known for producing big, valuable diamonds.
The largest of the stones recovered so far this year was a 126-carat D color, Type IIa diamond discovered in July.
Other finds this year include a 104.73-carat diamond in June and a 114-carat diamond in April, both of which also are D color and Type IIa, and a 151.52-carat Type I yellow in June.
Gem Diamonds owns 70 percent of the Letšeng Mine, with the remaining 30 percent held by the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho.
It also owns 100 percent of the Ghaghoo Mine in Botswana, though production at that mine is currently halted until market conditions improve.

Dominion Diamond is holding viewings of fancy yellow diamonds from Canada's Northwest Territories this fall in Israel and Belgium, ahead of a sale of the stones being conducted in partnership with I. Hennig Tenders.

Yellowknife, Northwest Territories--Dominion Diamond Corp. is partnering with I. Hennig Tenders to sell off an assortment of fancy yellow rough diamonds mined in Canada's Northwest Territories.
Viewings of the diamonds available in the auction will take place in Ramat Gan, Israel, from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1, and then in Antwerp, Belgium, from Nov. 6 to 10.
Participation in both the viewings and the auction is by appointment only.

Dominion Diamond has a controlling interest in the Ekati Diamond Mine and owns a 40 percent stake in the Diavik Diamond Mine as well, with the remaining 60 percent owned by Rio Tinto.
In July, the Yellowknife-based company announced that it was being acquired by The Washington Companies, a Missoula, Montana-headquartered group of mining, industrial and transportation businesses owned by billionaire Dennis Washington.
The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter. After the acquisition is complete, former Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. CEO Patrick Evans will join Dominion as its new CEO.

「共用．共贏 - 一帶一路上的中國標準（彩色寶石）」為主題的論壇日前舉行。論壇由國家珠寶玉石品質監督檢驗中心(NGTC)、中國珠寶玉石首飾行業協會(GAC)共同主辦。這是NGTC在國家一帶一路戰略背景下，加強彩色寶石標準化資訊交流，實現國際標準化的舉措。
國家珠寶玉石品質監督檢驗中心副主任張曉、中國珠寶玉石首飾行業協會副秘書長韓潔、國際珠寶首飾聯合會（CIBJO)主席Gaetano Cavalieri、國際彩色寶石協會主席Benjamin Hackman、亞洲博聞副總裁Wolfram Diener、香港鑽石總會會長馬墉宜、北京菜市口百貨股份有限公司總經理王春利、廣東省珠寶玉石交易中心總經理黎志偉、廣州鑽石交易中心總經理梁偉章以 及國內外彩色寶石業代表和媒體共200餘人參加了論壇。
國家珠寶玉石品質監督檢驗中心副主任張曉在歡迎辭中表示，本次論壇，旨在希望能與更多國際機構共同推 動彩色寶石國際標準的有效協調，促進世界各國彩色寶石領域的經貿發展和跨領域合作。中國彩色寶石市場的興起，使得彩色寶石成為消費和投資的熱門，相應分級 標準的建立成為市場需求。繼《紅寶石分級》和 《藍寶石分級》國家標準正式實施後，《祖母綠分級》國家標準預計亦將於年底發佈。

錘劫周生生：尋回犯案鐵錘 2千萬鑽飾仍蹤杳
南亞匪幫錘劫周生生案，警方反轉九龍公園尋獲涉案雙錘。3南亞匪駕乘一輛失竊電單車，昨日扑爆周生生珠寶行櫥窗20秒掠2400萬港元鑽飾，其中2匪持大 鐵錘逃走時跳車跑入九龍公園，今早11時許，油尖警區重案組探員返回九龍公園香港文物探知館調查，約一小時後，在案發當日尋獲鑽戒位置附近的草叢內，搜出 2把涉案的大鐵錘，相信是匪徒逃走時棄置，其後大批警察機動部隊人員到場增援，繼續搜索公園內有否有其他贓物，除被市民拾獲的100萬港元鑽戒外，其餘8 件鑽飾仍未尋回。此外，警方正翻查案發地點及逃走路線的「天眼」，追查3匪下落及身份。
至於在大角咀失竊、被盜用的電單車亦為重要線索， 警方連日到失竊位置附近調查，翻查店舖及大廈的「天眼」，追查偷車賊身份。該電單車姓朱（44歲）車主為地盤工，昨日亦因被牽連，在警署被盤問4小時，經 歷驚心動魄的一日，車主無奈稱：「我都一度被差人懷疑，喺警署搞咗幾個鐘先走得。我最驚係攞咗我架車，一係去劈友，一係去打劫！」
遇劫的周生生珠寶行，損毀的櫥窗玻璃今晨已更換，不着半點痕迹。早上10時許，職員陸續返回店內打點準備開舖，櫥窗放了一些價值較低的鑽飾，展出最貴的一枚鑽戒價值約49萬港元。
事發於昨日，3名南亞匪駕乘一輛電單車到周生生珠寶行，2人持大鐵錘扑爆櫥窗擸走鑽飾，得手後3人駕乘電單車離開，其中2人在九龍公園外跳車逃跑，一人則前往油麻地棄車，事後有市民在公園內拾獲一隻逾100萬港元的涉案鑽戒，警方案發7小時後尋回賊車，今日尋獲大雙錘。

The tender was unveiled to the global diamond trade at the recently concluded September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.
Headlining the collection of 58 pink, red and blue diamonds is The Argyle Everglow™, the largest fancy red diamond in the 33-year history of the Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender.
The Argyle Everglow™ is expected to command the attention of collectors from across Asia, including mainland China where red is an auspicious colour, analogous to fire and symbolising happiness, luck and good fortune.
Josephine Johnson, Rio Tinto Diamonds' director for global marketing, said Rio Tinto continues to observe strong demand and an increasingly sophisticated collector market right across Asia.
Rio Tinto's Argyle diamond mine in the far north of Western Australia produces virtually the world's entire supply of pink, red and blue diamonds.
The 2017 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender collection, themed "Custodians of Rare Beauty" weigh a total of 49.39 carats – including four fancy red diamonds, four purplish red diamonds, two violet diamonds, and one blue diamond.
The collection comprises five "hero" diamonds, including The Argyle Everglow™, selected for their unique beauty and named to ensure there is a permanent record of their contribution to the history of the world's most important diamonds.

16.9-Carat Diamond Ring Fetches $1.8M at Bonhams (16.9克拉的鑽石戒指拍出180萬美金高價)
寶啾寶石坊今日要與大家分享一件重達16.9克拉的鑽石戒指，近日在紐約的邦漢斯拍出180萬美金的高價（預估160-220萬）。
New York--A 16.9-carat diamond ring garnered $1.8 million at Bonham's New York Fine Jewelery Sale Tuesday, falling at the lower end of its pre-sale estimate of $1.6 to $2.2 million.
A private U.S. buyer bought the step-cut, type IIA, D color, internally flawless diamond.
Susan Abeles, head of jewelry for Bonhams U.S., said of the stone: "This is one of the finest examples of a diamond there is, given its rarity, color, cut, clarity and transparency. It was admired widely during our previews in New York, L.A., Geneva and Hong Kong and the diamond was extraordinarily charming."
Fine jewelry from the personal collection of Gigi Guggenheim Danziger, whose husband owned Cartier for four years, also was part of the auction, including many signed Cartier pieces.
Highlights from the 32 Danziger lots included a Cartier diamond necklace with three rectangular-shaped diamonds serving as its focal point, with round brilliant-cut diamonds set throughout, which fetched $37,500.
A Cartier ruby and diamond brooch, with the center diamond weighing 4.24 carats, garnered $46,000. Danziger wore it to the London premier of "The Godfather." It was an anniversary present from her husband.
Danziger's Cartier sapphire and diamond brooch went for $37,500. It featured a cushion-shaped modified step-cut sapphire, weighing approximately 7.10 carats, surrounded by marquise and pear-shaped diamonds.
Several Kashmir sapphires fetched high prices at Bonhams Fine Jewelry sale, including a 5.33-carat cabochon sapphire ring by Stephen Russell that also featured old European cut diamonds. The sapphire had no indications of heat or clarity enhancement. An online buyer paid $235,000 for the piece.
A cushion-shaped, mixed-cut sapphire weighing 5.30 carats and framed by a halo of old European cut diamonds, sold for $230,000. The no-heat sapphire was only expected to fetch between $100,000 and $150,000.
Similarly, an emerald ring made a splash at the auction, garnering $235,000. It featured an oval-shaped, modified brilliant cut 7-carat Colombian emerald flanked by similarly cut fancy vivid yellow diamonds weighing 1.09 carats and 1.04 carats.
Signed jewelry was also a hit with buyers, with a sapphire and diamond clip brooch by Oscar Heyman fetching $87,500 and an enamel and glass Medusa pendant by Rene Lalique selling for $69,500.
And, in what was possibly the most interesting lot of the bunch, a circa 1900 diamond, emerald and ruby brooch purchased at a garage sale for $8 in Ohio five years ago sold for $26,000 after a round of competitive bidding both in the room and over telephone.
Abeles concluded: "We had a really interesting sale this September, which featured the best diamonds you could buy, several Kashmir sapphires and some wonderful and extremely rare pieces of jewelry from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. These all performed very strongly at the auction along with signed jewelry from names such as Cartier, Oscar Heyman and Raymond Templier. It was notable to see that collectors form all over the world participated in the auction."

南亞匪幫愈劫愈狼，一車雙錘三人行劫周生生，廿秒掠二千四百萬鑽飾。繼尖沙咀金至尊珠寶行遭獨行南亞匪錘劫失逾五百萬元珠寶後，昨晨再有三名南亞蒙面匪光 天化日、眾目睽睽下「秒劫」廣東道周生生珠寶行，一人駕駛電單車接應，兩人持大鐵錘扑爆櫥窗擸走九件總值二千四百萬元的鑽飾，得手後三人持鐵錘及贓物駕乘 電單車「快閃」，其中兩人在九龍公園外跳車分頭逃跑，其餘一人前往棄車。有好市民在九龍公園拾獲一隻逾百萬元鑽戒，警方出動警察機動部隊搜證，追查七小時 後在油麻地尋獲電單車，證實為失車，正追緝三匪下落。
遇劫的周生生珠寶行位於廣東道卅號新港中心地下，早上十時半開舖。昨晨十時零三分， 多名珠寶行職員返回上址準備開舖，將多件珠寶首飾由保險箱取出放至櫥窗，期間三名身穿深色外套及長褲，分別戴上頭盔、漁夫帽、鴨嘴帽、長袖衫褲及口罩的匪 徒，駕乘電單車到門外，司機留在車上「睇水」，其餘兩人從行李篋內取出兩把約兩呎長大鐵錘，向珠寶行玻璃窗狂敲。玻璃應聲破裂現約七吋長大窿，一人探手入 內擸珠寶，另一人打電話通風報信。兩人得手後取回鐵錘，登上接應電單車逃去。
整個犯案過程僅約廿秒，電單車沿廣東道轉入梳士巴利道逃去， 珠寶行職員及目擊市民紛紛報警。警方接報到場，派出多輛警車在附近兜截，並封鎖現場調查。職員經初步點算後，共九件價值由九十萬至一千萬元的鑽戒及頸鏈被 盜去，總值約二千四百萬元，警方在珠寶行外檢獲一個行李篋、一個運動用品店紙袋，並在路中檢獲一頂鴨嘴帽，鑑證科人員到場協助搜證，案件由油尖警區重案組 第一隊接手。目擊者指三匪為南亞裔人士，行動迅速。
探員翻查店舖及附近大廈閉路電視，同時向目擊者取得案發片段及相片，經追查下發現電單 車由梳士巴利道轉入九龍公園徑，但在中港城附近上橋後車上只剩下司機一人，估計兩人在北京道至海防道之間跳車分頭逃去。調查期間，一名市民在九龍公園內香 港文物探知館附近拾獲一隻約一百萬元鑽戒交回警署，警方懷疑兩匪經九龍公園逃走時遺下贓物，派出大批警察機動部隊人員在花園花叢及去水渠作地氈式搜索，並 在北京道、海防道及九龍公園各出口一帶兜截，惟未有新發現。
至下午五時許，即案發後約七小時，警方在距離現場約一點八公里路程的文匯街電 單車泊位，發現涉案電單車，其車牌已被除下，上面放有一個頭盔，款式與匪徒所戴的相似，懷疑賊人駛至上址棄車逃去。附近店舖的「天眼」拍下賊人棄車經過， 當時涉事電單車由渡船街逆線駛入文匯街，在路邊「骨位」泊車後，便除下頭盔徒步離去。匪徒駕駛的電單車於早前已被報失，事後已聯絡車主到警署助查。
警方現正循多個方向調查，包括劫匪背景、有否其他同黨、事發前曾否踩線及事後處理贓物的方法等，至於匪徒是否與今年三月的金至尊劫案有關，則仍然有待調查，警方呼籲任何市民如有目擊案件，應盡快與警方聯絡。

尖沙咀半年內第2宗錘劫珠寶行，3南亞匪騎電單車備雙錘劫周生生！今日早上10時許，3名匪徒駕乘電單車到廣東道30號新港中心周生生珠寶行外，以大鐵錘扑爆玻璃櫥窗，擸走一批珠寶鑽飾，然後駕乘電單車逃去，多名途人目睹劫案，即時報警求助。
據途人拍下的片段顯示，當時3名匪徒均穿上深色外套及長褲，分別戴上頭盔、漁夫帽、鴨舌帽及口罩遮面，並戴上白色勞工手套。據目擊者稱，3人駕乘藍色電單車 抵達現場，司機留在車上「睇水」及接應，其餘2人從行李篋內取出2把約2呎長大鐵錘，向珠寶行玻璃櫥窗連扑數下，玻璃應聲破裂，出現蜘蛛網般裂紋，露出約 7吋長大窿，一人探手入內盜取珠寶，另一人則打電話通風報信，得手後拿回鐵錘，登上電單車逃去，整個犯案過程僅約20秒，電單車其後沿廣東道轉入梳士巴利 道，失去蹤影。
